Visual Validator package for Umbraco

I've created an Umbraco package that highlights Umbraco textstring data types when their value doesn't match the specified validation regular expression.

Get the package from our.umbraco.org

Apologies for the sound quality - I'm having some microphone issues at the mo :)

I like how you put in a that clever dummy property that work on all of the fields. Got to remember that trick!

This looks a great package and a useful addition to the Umbraco community.

In your screencast you mention about the restriction of umbraco of not being able to to add a piece of JavaScript to the content page without using the dummy dataType.

I am just thinking aloud so feel free to shoot me down. There is a masterpage load event in umbraco 4.0.3 which you can use to target the content edit page, where you could then add the JavaScript and any other code in.

Check out this umkbraco.tv for more info on it - http://umbraco.tv/documentation/videos/for-developers/events/modify-backend-ui-with-page-events

Would be great if it could work without even adding the dummyfield, but I guess that would require a modification in umbraco itself.

Question: would it be possible to change the validation color? The intense red background makes it a bit hard to read the black characters

    Nico
