I've created an Umbraco package that highlights Umbraco textstring data types when their value doesn't match the specified validation regular expression.Get the package from our.umbraco.orgApologies for the sound quality - I'm having some microphone issues at the mo :)
Just a quick post to point you at a couple of my latest activities in the Umbraco communiity:
In November I spoke at the Umbraco UK festival on the subject: Umbraco and the 3 flavours of Azure: Webroles, VMs, Websites. The video of the talk is now online to watch.
Secondly I've contributed an article to 24 days in Umbraco the fabulous advent calendar for Umbraco enthusiasts. The article is called Mapping Umbraco content to POCOs for strongly typed views.
In the absence of regular blogging we also now have a news page on the Moriyama site where you can follow what is going on in the company. Our social media feeds (linked in the footer of the Moriyams site) are the best way to stay bang up to date!

I have created an Umbraco datatype that enhances the standard upload type, so that you get a progress bar and cancel button.
Download it here
I’d very much appreciate it if any of you running dev Umbraco instances would road test this for me and let me know of any bugs, issues, feature requests.
Note: This control streams the file to a temporary folder during upload rather than storing the whole post request in memory.

Three and a half chilli rated
Saigon Saigon, 313-317, King St, London, W6 9NH
Our comment: There were a number of small issues that stopped this
place being 4 chilli rated. The food took 25 minutes to arrive and
the stock being warm rather than hot were two of the main niggles.
This place is definitely much more restaurant than a quick bite to
eat cafe that we normally go to.
On the plus side, the stock had good flavour and was very
different from anything on our quest so far, not so sure about the
mixed meats and the lack of chilli sauce on the tables.
We had number 69 - Bo Bun Hue.
This post is a response to a comment on my last blog post
Wouter correctly pointed out that my method for backing up the database involved taking the database temporarily off-line. By using the 'backup database' command in SQL server you can backup and restore and keep the database alive. I'd previously had problems with this, but finally sat down and worked through all of these issues so I now have a solution to share.
The backup database command is simple:
backup database umbraco to disk = 'D:\umbraco.bak';
I discovered that if you run this command from within management studio express it doesn't run as you, so watch out for permissions issues.
The restore command is a little more
My Umbraco map/place dataype that I've blogged about previously is available for download here. The datatype is distributed as an Umbraco package.Note: This is an Umbraco v4 datatype only. I may update it to support version 3 if there is the demand. Important: You will need a Google maps API key to use this datatype. The key can be obtained from this site and needs to be placed in the configuration file /umbraco/plugins/FergusonMoriyama/place/place.config.There are a couple of known issues, which I believe are issues with Canvas, but I'm happy to be corrected if wrong. First, the first time you click on a map location to edit - in IE only - the map doesn't render, subsequent edits work fine. The second issue is that if you edit one map
Darren Ferguson - / has built a
very cool social twitter app to help you find and meet fellow

Here's how... by one, find out where they are and then make a decision about who to join.If you are still with me you should begin to see how the problem relates to my application. Essentially, it allows dispersed social groups to quickly find one another. As well.../social group and would be interested in trying out my application please let me know.
social time with Per, Niels and the other participants. Niels even got a round of beers in! I also had the pleasure of chewing the fat with David Conlisk who was also on the course. David has taken the leap into freelancing full time something I hope
